Welcome to Amigoz Akitas We are a small kennel based in Southern River, Western Australia.
I, Ali Hartanto. I have been involved with akitas since 1998.
I grew up with dogs and other animals all my life. My father used to breed German Shepherds back in the 80’s and 90’s. He has bred and raised numerous homebred Champions, V and VA rated dogs. Wisma Ali Kennel was his prefix which was also my previous prefix with the Akitas.
Amigoz is our new prefix.
We are starting fresh and continue to move forward.
Amigos is a Spanish word which means "friends". At Amigoz, everyone is a friend.
Our dogs are companion first and our family guardian. They are also a show dog and our bloodlines are from the Uk , Usa and New Zealand. All of our breedings are well thought out ahead of time. We are breeding only from vet cleared hips and eye tested parents. We do not have puppies every year and only breed when we want to keep something back and/ or if we feel we could find the right home for our puppies. We do get pets in our litters and all pets are sold on a limited registration.
The Akitas are a spitz type breed with a curl tail. They are also known as "The Bear Headed Dog" as they resembles so much of a bear. They were used to hunt bear by the Japanese in the past. Akitas are a different dogs all together compared to the GSD. I have found that the Akitas are an amazing breed as they are very gentle and a great protector of the family. Eventhough they are a big dog, the would take food very gently off someone's hand. It is a pleasure to own and to be owned by an Akita.
No wonder most people who had owned an Akita would say:
"Once you own an Akita , you would never go back and own other breeds of dog.”
